Mental Health and Wellness Nova Scotia CIC is a registered community interest organization formed in 2021 offering mental health and wellness navigation and  education services throughout the province of Nova Scotia focusing on (but not limited to) youth ages 15 to 30.

what is a cic?

A CIC, Community Interest Company, is a organization with primarily social objectives whose surpluses are primarily reinvested for that purpose in the organization or the community. CIC’s work for the community benefit with the relative freedom of the non-charitable organization form to identify and adapt to circumstances, but with a clear assurance of not-for-profit distribution status.

MHAWNS’s purpose is to support individuals’ mental health and wellness through information and education.

Rhonda Frank is a peer support specialist located in the central zone (Halifax region) of Nova Scotia.  

Rhonda is the founder of MHAWNS, is co-chair of the Provincial Community Health Board and owns and operates Artsy Fartsy.   She is deeply committed to both her family and community and has held a number of volunteer positions throughout the years.
